It’s officially 2009 and you still have some major events to attend. The odds are, you just might have a cold sore outbreak to deal with as well. No big deal. You can dress up to impress for your next party, cold sore or no cold sore. I’ve got some great style tips to help you sparkle, fashionably and fabulously. Follow the steps below and you’ll dazzle AND shine at your next event. 

You can get fake hair, you can get fake nails, but there is no replacement for your skin. Summer is usually thought of as skin care season. But with the cold sore season upon us, are we considering how the cold and dry winter season can affect our skin?

Dermatologist and founder of the New York Dermatology Group, Dr. Colbert, recently chatted up winter skin care and cold sores with Ron Seggi on the Daybreak U.S.A radio show. Known as the “dermatologist to the stars,” Dr. Colbert covers everything from cancer screenings and bathing habits to cold sore treatments, hydration and hand washing.

So…you have a cold sore outbreak and feel like you just aren’t looking your best. What now? Sit at home wishing for the magical cold sore cure? Call in sick every day for the next two weeks? I say Change the Subject! Awaken your other senses. Distract yourself from looking and focusing on your fever blister.  Here’s a distraction for you. Hunt for a new enticing fragrance.

It’s happening again. You’re suffering from a cold sore outbreak. You may think that the best thing to do is to hibernate for the next two weeks, dressed in your pj’s with only your cat for companionship. I know you think you have a goal. You’re going to catch up on all 6 seasons of Sex in the City. This could be a fun for a day or so, but let’s be realistic. You will resent that fever blisters are keeping you from some great parties and from living your life. I’ve got a few tips on how you can still lay low but indulge in some distracting vices that may even have you wishing you had MORE time to yourself.

Don’t be confused. I realize a coat can’t literally cover-up your fever blisters. Unless we are talking about a large Peter Pan collar or maybe a fur trim. But ‘tis the season to cover-up from the harsh elements of winter and I’m sensing a theme here. If you get the right coat, it will take focus away from your cold sore blisters. Plus, shopping is a great distraction, and you’ll have all your favorite coats long after your fever blisters have healed.
