The most important thing to do is find a way to relate to our stress and the drama behind it. For example, I love everything fashion. So I fit my stress into extra small, small, medium, large and extra large sizes. My stress today has lost a size or two and has squeezed it’s way into a small. This way of thinking helps me take the stress to the good side of drama. I look at my stress from a comedic perspective. Why? Because comedy provides for more positive energy.
News briefs, health magazines, media reports and even the commercial market remind us daily that stress is BAD for us! Don’t we know it. It takes its effects out on our bodies and minds. Take cold sores for example. They don’t show up when everything is roses and sunshine. No waaaay. Outbreaks reliably rear their ugly heads when we are maxed out, when drama is intense and stress has us at our breaking points. Hence why they always make an appearance at our important meetings, once-in-a-lifetime events, etc.
My stressors include money issues, work, managing my household, taxes, bad retail customer service, relationships with friends, family and my significant other. I am sure you fabulous people can add more topics to the list. To deal, I just apply the “No More Drama’” lyrics to my day. Better yet, I bring things back down a notch with some great music, think good thoughts and take a moment to simmer down and let the drama and stress ease away.
Can we completely rid our lives of stress and drama? No, not possible. Can we handle stress better? Sure we can. It just takes a new perspective. For more information on Stress Management, check out WebMD.com.
